aster marcus

aster is a quiet girl, quite shy and softspoken, but she is so, so friendly. she's very curious, having taken up the job of postlady as both a way to combat her agoraphobia and a way to see more of the world that she so loves. she's quick on her feet and good at directions, so her deliveries never take long; she spends her extra time exploring the areas around her hometown, surrounded by woodlands and lakes and who knows what else...? secretly, she's hoping to find some kind of big discovery - a "Big Foot" perhaps, though they might not even exist in the first place. this hunger for discovery, though, belies a braver heart than even she herself knows she has.

aster grew up with her father in a small house in a small island village, where everyone knows each other. often times, stories start like this and quickly spiral into despair, but aster's isn't one of those. she truly has a peaceful life, delivering mail for her neighbours and running errands when she can. when she was younger, there was a certain incident that had traumatized and scared her into hiding away from people for years... but the details are lost to time, and frankly none of our business as readers. she's working on recovering now, day by day, bit by bit, and it's going quite well. her father is busy often, but they have a good relationship and support each other however they can.

i. personality

• friendly - despite her struggles, she loves to meet new people! she especially likes meeting people from out of town, often asking to hear about any cool or scary things they've seen in the outside world
• curious - she's fascinated by the world around her! there's so much to learn, so many new and beautiful things to discover, and if you can't get lost, what's the risk of exploring?
• shy - shy might be an understatement honestly... she really does try her best, but when it feels like the ground is stretching thin beneath you due to your anxiety, saying "hello" isn't really high priority
• altruistic - she puts others before herself, but reasonably so -- though, that's a recent development... she's put a lot of work into going from "doormat" to "altruistic"
• easily scared - she freezes up, going clammy and cold, when too scared... which is unfortunate, both with her agoraphobia and also as an avid horror fan...

ii. design notes

• her hair is styled in locs! she sometimes likes to put her hair up, usually in one or two buns
• she has heterochromia, and a mole between her left eye and eyebrow (your right when viewing her)
• please don't forget to make her palms lighter if you draw her!
• she mostly wears black, yellow, or orange clothes in sporty styles
• she has a flat chest and is rather spindly in build

• even though she never gets lost due to her magic talent, she's prone to losing her own posessions or straying from people she's traveling with... can't pinpoint those, after all
• she has agoraphobia and psychosis
• she hurt her knee a while back, so she wears a knee brace sometimes
• she has an emotional support animal, a crow named wallace. she talks to him, and he understands her, but he can't speak himself...
• she gets bad seasonal allergies
