deneb

thousands of years ago, there was a massive, sprawling castle city under one of the seas in teres, close enough to the coast that it was easy to access, but deep enough into the sea that it was hard to actually find. it was secretive but prosperous, and everyone who lived there was quite happy. eventually though, disaster did strike, around the same time that disasters were striking all around the world... this city didn't make it, sadly. torn apart by earthquakes and landslides of unprecidented size, there was only one survivor - deneb, a homunculus servant of one of the larger families. it was just by chance. and yet, this is how fate worked out...

deneb had been sleeping for hundreds of years after the disaster, being overloaded by magical energy from the world's unstable state. he was discovered, asleep on the cold stone floors of the last remaining spire, by the residents of a modern-day village on teres who were searching the ruins for anything they could salvage. how could he be alive, looking so young and unharmed, sleeping peacefully like this through all the earthquakes and floods? especially when no one else was to be found through the entire place? well, it's not like any of them could figure it out... they carried him out to the village and set him up in bed, hoping he would wake up someday.

when he woke up, he was confused and scared, surrounded by unfamiliar people in an unfamiliar place. the villagers as a whole felt for deneb's plight. while their hometown had largely lucked out, they had all lost much and more in the calamities, some of them having lost nearly everything. deneb wept, feeling as though his long life and his magic armor were a waste, now having nothing to protect... until one of his caretakers suggested he try to rebuild a life here, in the village. it wouldn't be the same, not by a long shot, but he was free to take a look around and see if anything called out to him. it took him a little while to calm down, but ultimately he decided that it would be for the best to live in this new era of peace as best as he could.

• selfless - to the point that only recently has he begun to even realize that he does have a self in the first place
• polite - impressively well-mannered; people like to tell him he should act out a little more
• distant - he's not sure how to befriend others, but thankfully, those around him are willing to reach out first
• curious - there's so much to learn up on the surface, it's like a whole other world to him!
• steadfast - loyal, dedicated, and always stands his ground

• he is non-op with large breasts, and quite stocky and curvy
• his hair is fluffy and wavy; it covers his eye, but it's just a style choice
• both of his ears are pierced
• his eyes are a deep, dark blue with no visible pupil
• his left arm (your right when viewing him) is a prosthetic

• he is immortal so long as his core is intact - however, his arm cannot regenerate because of an error when making his core
• animals like him a lot
• he is really bad at dancing
• his previous life was not actually kind to him at all; his masters didn't see him as a person, just a tool, so the idea of self-reflection and identity are very new to him
• he's rather flat-affect
