harvester

harvester is level-headed, calm, usually quite blank-faced... so people tend to think he's a little hard to approach, but the truth is that he just takes things slowly and has confidence that any problems he faces will work out in the end, somehow. he never worries about anything, always somehow having an answer for whatever arises. he used to be quite hot-headed, which is part of why he became a boxer in his youth, but eventually got he scouted by a bodyguard company. he likes this line of work a lot more.

he left the anthousai factory at a relatively young age - most stay until they're about 15, but he left at around 10 - and set off to travel the world. from the books he'd read, harvester thought that just seemed like a really cool and awesome thing to do. and it is! it is, but harvester was not really cut out for it, and ended up picking fights quite often. that's all behind him now, though, as he's settled down in a small town with a nice little community. it's a little hard for him to join in on community-related things, feeling like he's a bit of an outsider even after living there for... gosh, who knows how long at this point? one of the neighbour kids thinks he's just the coolest person ever though, and often drags him around town if he's not busy at the time.

i. personality

• stoic - he takes his problems as they come, with very little in the way of complaining or getting upset
• inexpressive - he experiences emotions in a rather muted way, so his expressions quite match up with that
• clueless - she doesn't really have a lot of reference for things due to a somewhat isolated upbringing, but she also just doesn't pay attention sometimes
• polite - even though she's a little rough around the edges, she's always careful to be on her best manners
• ruthless - when they have a goal or a job to do, they will take the clearest route there, even if they have to cut through that route themself

ii. design notes

• their skin is an ashy gray, with the ears, hands, feet, and tail fading to a deep green
• they have a lot of scars all over their body from fighting in the past, with these scars looking like scar tissue on a plant - pale with brown edges
• on the topic of scars, she has top surgery scars; it may seem a little contrary considering anthousai can shapeshift, but it's more about what it means and symbolizes
• his hair is fluffy and wavy, with white petals poking out of it
• she likes wearing tight shirts and baggy bottoms

iv. trivia

• her name was actually "harv" originally, but when asked what harv was short for, all she could think to say was "harvester"
• he's fascinated by boba, seeing it as less of a food or drink, and more of a toy
• they don't like kids, but not out of genuine dislike or anything, more just that they have no idea how to actually act around them... since generally, anthousai are all born adults and only age slightly...
• their magical talent is healing magic by way of speeding up the recovery of wounds, with the range of the magic being about 5-10 inches directly in front of the palm-side of their hand; it's not very powerful magic, but it certainly helps
• she got her harmonica from a neighbour who was getting rid of some old junk; she saw it and was immediately curious about what it does, and managed to get good at it in no time
