masataka is an airship mechanic who is overly dedicated to his craft, often losing days at a time to it, but always coming up with incredible new ideas. talks big, often threatening people who touch his work, but never acts on it. kind of a pushover, really.

in the past, he had been just an average lackey on an airship crew, until one day something clicked and he realized just how beautiful machines can be. this was, of course, after he had gotten injured and needed his arm augmented with mechanical implants - he had always thought machinery was something special, but after this, after seeing the way it can move, it can help, it can practically live -- it became an obsession, a love beyond words. after he was caught stealing scrap parts to make his own machines with, he was kicked from the crew... but between you and i, i never understood what the crime in stealing scrap is. and neither does masataka.

none of this is to say though that he isn't good at what he does. masataka might be one of the best at his game, if he would only keep his head in it.

jerky ☆☆☆

some kind of jerky that's so old what type of meat it's made of has been long forgotten. it's probably still safe; it's preserved after all.

junk ☆☆☆

one man's trash is another man's treasure, they always say. and one man's treasure is another man's recycled all-purpose tinkering materials.

multitool knife ★★★

not masataka's preferred tool, but easily the most convenient to carry around. doubles as an intimidating factor when using the knife; unfortunately for masataka, doubling zero still means zero.
