mathilda fonseca

mathilda is nothing if not stalwart and reliable. she's stoic, quiet almost to a fault, often blending in with her surroundings... but if you know she's there, she's a hard one to forget. and if she's there for you, you're guaranteed to be safe. she tends to get caught up in her own thoughts, going around in circles even if she's in a position to know that there's nothing to fret about - but what if there is? though, with her skills, that's usually not the case. she cares deeply for her friends, putting their safety above her own, but she never cuts corners. everyone will be safe with our brave mathilda around!

as a child, she was always a little tougher than the others her age. she never started fights, but she would always end them. other children looked to her as a mediator too, calling for her if another fight broke out somewhere nearby. as she grew, this is where she found most of her work, just... guarding people. she always thought "why can't these people just guard themselves? it's not that hard, really." but who was she to turn down some easy money? she scored a longterm job as a guard at a circus, a totally normal circus, not a scary murder circus... ah, but it was. and of course they hadn't told her that, so when she found that out, she did what any normal person would do. she beat the ringmaster half to death, took the money, and burnt the tent down on her way out. nowadays she's a little more careful with her jobs.

i. personality

• brave - not in a gung-ho hero kind of way, but she's very confident in her abilities and knows that she can easily stand up for others when they can't themselves
• hot-headed - she's not easily riled up, but her temper runs hot and fast for sure; when she gets going, she can be quite fiesty!
• wary - she's pretty suspicious of everyone around her, which makes sense with her past experiences, but she can be very prickly, bristly, hard to approach
• generous - she's not necessarily friendly by any stretch of the word, but it's not like she's going to just turn away from people who need help, especially if they need something she can readily give
• practical - as far as her personal life goes, she keeps it pretty minimal; she doesn't like to have too many posessions, just what she really needs, doing what she needs to stay in top shape, putting money away in her savings... she thinks ahead!

ii. design notes

• she's quite muscular, and she has large breasts
• her hair tends to cover her left eye, but not for any particular reason; it's just a style thing. additionally, she can be drawn with either long or short hair, but the shorter hair is more recent
• she generally only wears black, brown, and red clothes in athletic sorts of styles, but she likes any bold and bright colour... in moderation
• her tail has a stinger on the end of it, but she doesn't really like using it for combat or anything like that
• she has sharp teeth!

• she has ocd
• she spends a lot of time at taverns, both for fun and to gather info she might need for upcoming jobs
• she is really good at handstands
• she can speed-count very well
• she's a martial artist, using her hands and feet to fight when needed, but she has some knives hidden in her clothes just in case
