rowan

rowan is a high ranking member of the gold rose knights, which serve to protect a few of the cities in the more central region of the land, carrying out her job with pride. she patrols the city, making sure everything is in order and working safely, often times stopping to help citizens with their daily chores or with any problems they may have. she is well loved and respected by everyone around her, but still very shy and lacking in confidence. part of that stems from the fact that she doesn't really know who or what she is; she has no memories of her life prior to her preteen years, and no family that she knows of, having been raised by the knight captain her whole life.

lately however, she has been wondering if her faith is misplaced. her mother -- the captain, that is -- has seemingly disappeared without a trace, and no one else in the order offers up any information when asked, often acting shifty and almost too quick to change the topic. the townsfolk are worried as well, but even when they ask the other knights they get no answer, sometimes even being harshly shut down. she did find her mother's necklace behind one of the shelves in the order's base while investigating, but... what could that mean? the order may have its faults, but... if they have anything to do with her mother, then- then what? what is she to believe in then?

i. personality

• kind - she has a vested interest in making sure everyone in the area she patrols is safe and comfortable for everyone, doing check-ins and little acts of kindness even when she's off the clock
• open minded - she knows that she has a lot to learn about the world, especially the wider one outside of her city, so she meets new concepts on their own terms and tries to ask for more info whenever she can
• loyal - too loyal though, it's beginning to rear its head as a deep fault; rowan follows whoever seems kind and righteous to her with barely any room for forming her own opinions on whatever they may have her do
• skittish - even though she doesn't remember her past at all, she feels some kind of deep fear from it, leaching out into her current life, one that causes her to recoil and flinch at even the slightest of shocks
• resolute - despite how naive and jumpy she is, she does know how to steel herself if the situation calls for it, and while she is tested gravely at times, she will always remain steadfast

ii. design notes

• she has a bit of a slight but muscular build with medium-ish breasts and broad shoulders
• her eyebrows are short, but thick and rounded
• she always has a headband on and her hair gathered in some manner of low tie, be it a braid or a ponytail
• her skin is a bit tan, sort of a warm olive tone, with lots of freckles and beauty marks all over
• she prefers wearing long skirts and dresses with sweaters over them, usually in pastel and earth tones

iv. trivia

• she is autistic and has panic disorder; she stims by rubbing her hands on her clothes, playing with the hems, and twirling her hair
• she can read 3 different languages, but isn't very confident in speaking the ones that aren't her first language
• she has trouble with left and right directions
• she has a pretty severe fear of the dark
• older women really seem to love her, but it all kind of goes right over rowan's head
