stella

stella is a shy child, inquisitive but very withdrawn. he loves cleaning and making sure his house is in good order, just in case anyone comes by to say hello! when he's finished housework for the day, he likes to walk around his garden, often taking a book with him to read in the shade. when it comes to talking to people, he stutters a lot and repeats things, but he has a wealth of knowledge that he's more than happy to share.

the truth is, stella's house is empty aside from himself. the owners passed on long ago, leaving stella by himself, stuck in time and waiting for someone who will never return. when the master of the house passed, they wished that their daughter would always have a friend to play with; this wish manifested as stella, the daughter's imaginary friend which was based off of her favourite plush toy. stella helped the family with upkeep of the house, studied with the daughter, all-around had a pleasant life. one by one though, the family passed away, the staff moved out, and stella was alone. he's just a child though, so he didn't fully understand what happened, and he still struggles with the concept.

more and more people have come to visit his house though, calling it a "haunted mansion," or something? stella is always ready to welcome people in, letting them stay as long as they'd like, though he does warn them that he doesn't know how to cook.

i. personality

• shy - he loves making friends, but it's a little hard to approach people when you are a ghost borne of a plush toy, one who only had one friend...
• dedicated - he feels indebted to his family, and does everything he can to keep the house in ship shape for when they come back
• curious - in the off chance that he is able to see something new, usually something brought by a house guest, he'll be all over it! bouncing around and asking questions, oh, how interesting!
• excitable - when he finds something he's interested in, he can talk your ears off about everything he's learned about it, gesturing wildly and talking so, so fast... it's quite cute!
• hospitable - lots of people come to visit stella's house under the impression that it's empty and haunted, and he enjoys showing them around!

ii. design notes

• his build is that of a slightly stocky child, though instead of human feet, he has cylindrical legs from the knee down that have a rounded-flat end
• his skin is fabric with patterned patches all over it, mostly on his legs and ears
• his irises look like buttons with x-shaped stitching in the middle
• he doesn't have a lot of clothes, so he just wears a short sleeve blouse with shorts and suspenders, though he does have an interest in clothes...
• his eyes are quite large, and he tends to stare at people a little bit

• his favourite science subject is space
• his body is full of cotton fluff, and he can't feel temperature very well
• he has no sense of taste
• his glasses are from his plush form, so they're fake
• he has a few friends that come to visit sometimes, a pair of... witches, they might be called?

	a simpler verion of the book, but still impressive for someone so young to be reading. soon, stella will be reading even bigger books from the family's library.

	a small pouch full of tools for stella to use if he needs to get patched up. a form of first aid, when one thinks about it.
