sunny day

sunny is an upbeat and peppy lady, one who is a widely beloved part of her community in snowdell. she's part of a long line of candlemakers, a trade which is sorely needed in the cold and icy northern lands of teres... the warmth and brightness she provides with her work is second only to those she provides with her personality, though she'd certainly be embarrassed if you said that to her face. she struggles a bit with feeling present in her own life, often feeling like she's just drifting through it without any agency, so people taking notice of her in any work-unrelated way often leaves her feeling quite bashful.

she watches a lot of movies and reads stories online, often feeling like she's learning about how to connect to people through those lenses. she's a big fan of strange and experimental art especially, often most intrigued by traditional scary stories from places she's never been to. there's something comforting about knowing that everyone gets scared, even people you've never met, and that someone is still around to tell the story of someone who was scared. after all, life is quite scary even in the day-to-day, isn't it? but as long as you keep talking to people, someone will be around to tell your story long after you're gone, no matter how scared you were... and really, what's a storytelling session without a good, long-lasting candle or two?

i. personality

• friendly - she loves meeting new people, even if it's a little scary, but she always says hello to everyone she passes by -- even bugs and rocks too, if she notices them
• creative - one might think that since her preferred medium is candlemaking, there might be some limitations on what she can make, but she could easily prove that line of thought wrong!
• cautious - perhaps even too cautious... she puts on a brave face, but she's scared of a great many things, and has dire intrusive thoughts on top of it, often shying away from trying new things because of these factors
• introspective - she spends quite a lot of time thinking about the ways she acts and how her brain works, curious about the millions and billions of small causes and effects that one goes through even in just their own thoughts
• playful - she loves playing pranks on people... thought of course, she would never intentionally hurt anyone! ...but it might be a little funny... well, maybe not... or, well, maybe...

ii.design notes - sunny was designed by moist on toyhouse!

• she's a little stocky and has a flat chest
• those might be her real ears, but they might not be... no one knows, and she won't say
• her wardrobe is almost entirely off-white and pastel colours; it's almost all long sleeves and long skirts too, since it's so cold where she lives
• she has long, pale eyelashes and her eyes seem to open really, really wide at times
• for lack of a better term, all of her expressions have a :3 quality to them

iv. trivia

• she collects "puffy things," anything she can find that has a... well, puffy appearance and texture, like those of her skirt and coat.
• she is neurodivergent and has psychosis
• she has a mild intolerance to peppers, but it doesn't stop her from eating them
• she has chronic back pain, and sometimes wears a back brace for it
• she's a big fan of the game studio "frond software," which is known for making very difficult, very beautiful games with obscure storytelling
