hamamoto yayoi

yayoi is an energetic and friendly person, one with a big heart and a lot of curiosity to quell. they love reading, a hobby shared with their older brother, one which inspires them to be braver and more involved with their community. they want to be a hero, to protect others, to defend the weak in whatever way they can. and yet, they have a more meek side to them, one especially brought about by raised voices and loud sounds. through years and years (young they may be) of practice standing up for people, they've managed to be able to stand up for themselves too, though their heart pounds something nasty when it happens.

yayoi is the youngest of three siblings, children of a highly regarded family in a deep-sea city. when yayoi was around 8 years old, their oldest brother hazuki had killed the middle brother. it was an act of both self-defense and protection of their family, but everyone around them - everyone uninvolved - made it out to seem like hazuki was a coldblooded killer trying to make a bid for power. the truth was kept close to yayoi and their mother's heart, the fear of retaliation against any of their family being too deep to fathom. it inspired yayoi though... to see that their brother loved them so dearly, put himself on the line to protect those in need, it started a wellspring of courage inside them. yes, it moved them greatly, giving them the bravery to do what they felt is right every day.

i. personality

• sweet - they love listening and talking to everyone they meet, always with a warm, genine smile
• open-minded - what's the point of being close-minded anyways? you'll never learn new things that way, and you alienate people too!
• skittish - after how their late brother treated them, it's no small wonder that they often shy away if people start getting angry
• peppy - things may be tough, but yayoi never stays down for long!
• curious - sometimes bordering on nosy or prying, though... which is one of the reasons they sometimes get in trouble

ii. design notes

• they have a flat chest and are a bit lanky
• their hair is a little bit fluffy, and always styled with some kind of ponytail
• they have a pretty large scar on their forehead that they like to keep covered with their hair
• they mostly wear cool, muted colours, with the clothing itself consisting of shorts and sweaters in soft materials
• their eyes are a bit droopy, and they have sharp teeth

iv. trivia

• they have tourette syndrome and generalized anxiety
• they usually rollerskate around, rather than walking or other modes of transport
• they enjoy doing puzzles, but get stuck easily
• they have a really fantastic sense of direction
• they have a deep fear of being yelled at, but lately they can stand their ground much better... that being said, it is a major trigger for them that often can't be overcome
